This ecological restoration plan holds the values of Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki who have maintained ahikā to in Tāmaki Makaurau, Hauraki and Tikapa Moana (Hauraki Gulf). It captures the vision for Ngā Motu ō Waikōpua and the wider Te Awakarihi catchment the motu sit within.

The restoration plan provides a holistic (social, cultural, environmental and economic) set of implementation tools that deliver the three themes identified in the Iwi Management Plan:
• Restore the living systems of the islands
• Enable customary cultural practices
• Drive economic benefits

The plan was authored by Charmain Bailie of Uru Whakaaro Ltd and Richelle Kahui-McConnell of Mealofa Ltd. Xanthe White Design led the graphic design and mapping to create an engaging visual document.
